Meet Joseph Ruben II. Every morning, he gets up at 3 AM to study, starts training at 4 AM, and practices volleyball, soccer, or singing at 5 AM. By 8 AM, he's at work as a qualified computer technician for Dell. After work, at 5 PM, he goes to the gym to run or for more sports training. After dinner at 8 PM, he studies until 10 or 11 just to wake up and do the whole thing again the next day. Along with all of this, he is skilled in multiple martial arts, writes his own music, bakes, is an artist, repairs electronics, sells ties that he makes, speaks four languages and is learning two more. He was a gold medal outfielder in baseball and the student body president in high school while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He is active in the LDS church as the Ward Mission Leader and the 2nd counselor in the Young Men's Presidency and served a mission in his home country of Fiji.

Growing up in Fiji, Joseph has seen the struggles that poverty has inflicted upon his family and those in his community. He has made it his goal in life to get away from those difficulties and provide for his family by getting an education. Not only will this education help his current family, but will also help to ensure the educations and livelihoods of his future family for generations. He is looking into starting at Brigham Young University in January for the winter semester, but before he can apply for a student visa, he needs to prove that he can pay the tuition and fees required by the university. This is where you can help!

If our goal is reached, the funds will be applied as follows:

$5,000 - Tuition
$7,330 - Room and Board
$1,000 - Books and Supplies

Joseph already has a job lined up at the Provo, UT Missionary Training Center which will allow him to pay for any personal expenses as well as build up a savings for future years of education.

By making a donation, you are helping to increase the education of not only one man but, by the impact he will make, an entire community. Any little bit helps to reach the goal that has been set, and get this impressive young man the education he deserves and has been striving for. After all, that's what the American Dream is all about, right?
