Neither the government nor the people were prepared for a calamity that has left more than 400,000 people without a place to live and over 200 dead. At this point, there are thousands of people who have not been rescued and the government of India has not only been discriminatory in it's relief efforts, saving tourists and army men over local Muslims, but has refused international aid for Kashmir from the UN as well as the Red Cross. People have run out of food and drinking water. Kashmiris are relying solely on each other and I request all of you to help me contribute to my state. Your contribution could help save a life. 1 dollar would mean a leaf of fever medicine and 5 dollars could buy a blanket. You could help save a life.
