Help Kate Go Volunteer in Italy!
Organized by: Kaitlyn Kregel
Hi! My name is Kate and I'm an 18 year old student at the University of Michigan. I'm majoring in International Studies and it's been my dream since 8th grade to go to Italy. I've been given the opportunity to go to Italy and volunteer with an NGO in Naples. An NGO is a non governmental organization that provides social support through a ton of programs in Naples- they have really limited funding in fields like human rights, youth welfare, education, literacy, and environmental conservation. Through this program I'd be able to be involved in counseling, helping people trying to get humanitarian asylum, and supporting LGBTQ+ community programs. Since 8th grade I've looked through dozens of study and volunteer abroad options, and a lot of them do not accept volunteers with physical handicaps. I've been an amputee for almost all my life and it's been hard to find a volunteer opportunity abroad that would allow me to go. But I found IVHQ which has given me the opportunity to go to Italy and volunteer in underprivileged areas! Any help at all would be amazing and hugely appreciated! I would be incredibly grateful for your support! Thank you so much for any support you can give!
