BENEFITING: JACK S ANGELS INC
Katie King (6 years old) has DIPG, an invariably terminal brain cancer. Children with DIPG have few options; all treatments are clinical trials and palliative care. Katie has been showing great promise on experimental drug Panobinostat, but her "Compassionate Care" time is only 3 months, and it is a biologic so abruptly stopping treatment would ruin her chances. Panobinostat will cost her family $12,000 per month; I figure $24,000 will cover two months. Perhaps in that time, the Compassionate Care policy will be revised by the pharmaceutical company Novartis. Katie's mom Jaime is now working for the household while her husband has been laid-off; a working-class family at a time of difficulty cannot afford this medication. If you, or someone you know would be inclined to help, please donate if you can. For more information about DIPG, visit www.jacksangels.org. Thank you! All donations are tax-free and all proceeds pay for Panobinostat.
