We are Matthew and Alysea. Our mom, Kerri has MDS, which is a type cancer that affects her blood and bone marrow. She has been going through blood transfusions for over a year and chemotherapy for four months. She needs to have a bone marrow transplant to save her life. She has been going through treatments to deplete her bone marrow so the transplant can be made. Her marrow is nearly completely gone. She is set to start a procedure that will expedite this procedure. With this procedure the donor is given a series of 5 shots to make them produce more stem cells, after a few days those cells are extracted. The donor makes more, then those are extracted too. This happens a few times. All the extracted cells are frozen ( or used immediately ) and given to my mom. From there the hope is that the new cells will cling to her 'empty' bones and start to make new marrow. Then her aftercare and serious monitoring starts. A donor that is a match has been found but to do the transplant she needs $30,000. Her marrow is so depleted that she can only survive on blood transfusions for about 3 weeks from now before it starts deteriorating the rest of her body. We need to raise $30,000 within two weeks so she can begin the process for the marrow transplant.

We need as much help as we can get to raise the money needed for our mom to get the transplant that will save her life. Every penny helps. We are asking for your help to save our mother’s life.
