BENEFITING: Victory Junction Gang Camp, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2014
When I was a child I had the chance of a lifetime. In my life I had never been able to be a normal kid but then I discovered Victory Junction and my life changed. That one week of summer camp made me forget everything bad in my life, made be forget about the bullies, the 20 doctors I had been to and forget about my troubles. I want more kids to be able to experience that and forget about the hospitals and problems they are facing in their lives. That's what this $3100 dollars will do. This money will pay for a child to go to camp as well as cover their transportation to camp for those parents who can not afford it.
If you do not wish to donate money but to donate your time please follow this link to the Victory Junction web page to learn about volunteering during weekends or the summer. http://victoryjunction.org/join-vj.php
Victory Junction enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, at no cost to children or their families.
Since opening our gates in 2004, our year-round programs not only challenge campers to find resilience by looking beyond their illness, but provide a safe place to try new things under unobtrusive, complete 24-hour medical supervision. Our state-of-the-art facilities are intentionally designed to be accessible and inclusive for all campers affected by one of the many diagnoses served at camp.
Victory Junction strives to create a foundation that fosters independence, confidence and continuous growth after camp to better the quality of life for children. We are honored to have provided camp to children from all 50 states, as well as several foreign countries. Victory Junction is a member of Paul Newman’s renowned SeriousFun Children’s Network and is accredited by the rigorous guidelines of the American Camping Association.
