Help Launch YLF’s School Year Leadership Seminars & Attend Steve McClatchy Leadership Seminar!
As we begin the new school year, YLF has been working diligently to identify a group of students who want to increase the trajectory of their lives through character formation and challenging academics.
However, YLF needs your support to fulfill its mission. With your generous gift, you can have a direct impact on a young person’s life. Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 online!
Coming this October, YLF will be launching a new Leadership Series through the Program for Academic and Leadership Skills (PALS) for girls and the Tenley Achievement Program (TAP) for boys in order to introduce a dynamic Saturday morning to nearly 60 of YLF’s top students. These Saturdays will include a formal sit-down breakfast containing discussions on current events, study halls, workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and extracurricular activities.
Breakfast is the most important meal, so why not utilize that time to discuss relevant issues in these students’ lives.
Study hall allows the students to brush up on their school courses with the aid of volunteers who come from some of the top universities in the Nation.

“Thank you so much for your time, energy, patience and effort! [PALS]really goes a long way in helping us parents produce well rounded, cultured and smart girls,” - Sadiqa B., Parent of PALS Students
Since 1997, YLF has served over 3,000 kids and the number continues to increase through its Tenley Achievement Program (TAP) for boys and Program for Academic and Leadership Skills (PALS) for girls.
The Youth Leadership Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on the excellence of inner city youth. YLF empowers underserved youth in our Nation’s Capital by offering its unique “Four Pillars” approach to change the trajectory of these students’ lives through introducing character formation, academic excellence, personal mentoring, and parental involvement. These youth are the future generation of America, and we must see this as an investment now in order to be confident that they will emerge as good and contributing citizens later. Through these fun but rigorous programs kids are challenged to succeed!
