BENEFITING: Wisconsin Humane Society
Lily is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix with severe hip dysplasia and a deformed left femur. She is beloved by everyone who crosses her path and is an integral part of her human family. She has two human sisters who adore her more than anything. As a single parent, my resources are limited. However, Lily is the first dog I've ever owned and when I rescued her from the shelter at 9 weeks old, I committed to caring and providing for her for as long as she lived. When she began walking funny as she approached her first birthday, I knew something was wrong. After several exams by her regular veterinarian and x-rays by an orthopedic specialist, it was discovered that Lily suffered from hip dysplasia as well as a congenital deformity to her rear left leg. For the past three years, I've relied on treating her through diet, supplemental nutrition, and exercise. However, it is clear that the condition is becoming increasingly painful as of late. She is still such a young animal with lots of life to live and I want to give her the best quality of life possible. I am trying to raise enough money to have a total hip replacement done on one of her hips, as well as to pay for follow up exams post-surgery. No donation is too small; every penny is appreciated.
