Haney Cottage is home to 12 amazing girls. At Uspiritus, we wrap our arms around these fun-loving and spirited girls. They wake up and get dressed for school, do homework, fix meals and spend time healing in our care. Help Uspiritus make Haney home by giving to furnish their activities room. We are in need of two couches and 10 bean bag chairs in this space where the girls watch movies and spend time doing group activities or have some free-time.

Youth in our residential treatment programs live in family-style cottages that are supervised by trained youth care workers, shift supervisors and cottage managers. Because the boys and girls ages 6-18 on our campuses have suffered abuse, neglect and other emotional trauma, or are showing the first signs of mental illness, having a homelike atmosphere in which to heal is of utmost importance. Haney Cottage is home to these girls for many months as they learn basic and advanced social skills that help build self-esteem, communication, self-awareness and healthy relationships. Our staff support youth by holding daily family meetings, setting expectations and pro-actively teaching the skills needed to become successful in the community.
