Help make SJP's first ever gathering in the South possible!
Organized by: SJP South
SJP South via Crowdrise
February 03, 2016
EVENT DATE Jan 29, 2016
Students for Justice in Palestine has been out on the forefront of the struggle for justice in Palestine here in the United States, growing from less than 20 chapters in 2010 to over 180 today! We've been organizing ourselves so that we can be even more effective together and support each other during our BDS campaigns and work on campus raising awareness of what is happening in Palestine. Many of us have been blacklisted, harassed, or otherwise targeted by our well funded opposition on campuses for the work that we've done on campuses.
This conference will be focusing on critical issues in Palestine organizing: know-your-rights for student activists, cross-movement solidarity, BDS campaign design, and strategic conversations about dynamics in the Palestine movement and community. We'll be building a community and democratic structure which will support us in the years to come and keep SJP growing in the South!
We can't do it without you! We're asking for your help to help us bring in students from across the south, from Texas and Virginia, Florida and Kentucky, to participate in this amazing event. Your money will go towards feeding, housing, and giving travel scholarships to students who are pushing for Palestinian rights every day on their campuses and communities across the American South. Please show your support for student organizing and help make the dream of this gathering a reality.
Thank you so much!
Amira, Anais, Osama, Mohammad, Ahmad, Eman, and the rest of the SJP South fam.
