Help Me Graduate
Organized by: Victoria Savoy
EVENT DATE May 01, 2016
As we all know, furthering one's education is difficult. I am intending on being the first person in my family to graduate with a bachelor's degree. I am getting a degree in psychology. I am going to use this degree to work with soldiers suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This money will go toward my tuition, the cost of books and course material, and room and board costs. Any money above and beyond what I need to graduate will go toward paying off the student loans I have already accrued from my first two years.
I feel I deserve this opportunity because I do not want to be part of the continuing cycle of poverty leading to poverty. I have already learned so much in the first two years of my college experience and am excited about learning more in my field. I want to help people who are suffering in unimaginable ways, in areas that many of their friends and family members find it difficult to support them in. I work very hard in my studies. I am currently taking 18 credits in psychology courses and I have a 3.70 GPA, By the end of this semester, I want to have at the very least a GPA of 3.75 or higher, and have no less than a B+ in any of my classes.
I have tried many other methods of paying for school. I have applied to hundred of scholarships and they do not cover the full cost of my tuition. I have classes and two part-time jobs throughout the year, I also intend to pick up another job and an internship.
This cause really means a lot to me. It isn't just money. it is my future, and potentially the futures of those that I can help with the skills I am learning. Every little bit helps, even if it is just one dollar. If you cannot donate then please share my campaign and maybe a friend of a friend of a friend can spare a little cash to help me succeed.
