If a Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words.

Picture Yourself Losing Hope, Health & Career.

And For Just a Moment Imagine How Would You Feel.

My name is Mohamed.

The smile you see on my face is no longer there.

Instead, my face is lined with pain

And my heart is heavy…

If I had the opportunity to make two wishes, they would be:

1.  To take away my physical pain, and

2.  To ease my emotional pain

The beginning of my story is not unique. I came to the United States in 2008 and consider myself blessed to live in this country. When I arrived on these shores, my heart was filled with gratitude. I looked around in awe as I took my first steps on the ‘land of opportunity.’ I worked hard; kept focused; got married; started a family; and began to fit into the mainstream of this vibrant country.

Although my dreams were far greater than I could ever possibly attain, I was still content and never lost faith that I had made the right decision – until now. Within one year, I lost my health, my career and my hope.

My Physical Pain

If a picture is worth a thousand words, look at this image and imagine living in constant pain from a dislocated patella in my knee and not having enough money for the surgery necessary for its repair.

My patella was dislocated; ligaments were torn; and my knee became unstable due to two accidents on the same knee. Since then, I have been unable to work because I can only take a few steps before I am faced with debilitating pain. Surgery could repair this damage – but without a job, I can’t afford the medical expenses.

My Emotional Pain

When I immigrated to the United States in 2008, my father and mother remained behind in Egypt. In 2011, my father died of a sudden heart attack, and I never had the opportunity to say goodbye. My mother is elderly, and our home in Egypt needs maintenance that she cannot afford to pay and is in danger of collapsing. My heart is heavy, knowing that I cannot help.

My Plea

I am now a stay-at-home dad with one son and a new baby due to be born in November.  I pray that the generosity of caring individuals will give me the boost I need to pay for my surgery and start a new business so that I can support my family and pay for repairs on my mother’s home.

If you can possibly help me, please do.

I have never asked for help before, and I feel ashamed to ask for it now. This country has been good to me, and I am grateful for everything and anything that I still have.

After much soul-searching, decided to set my pride aside and to finally ask for help. I hope that you can find it in your heart to ease my burden. Your donation will restore my faith in myself because I know that I will use it with prudence and reverence. When I (literally) get my feet back on the ground and become healthy and financially secure again – I will begin to ‘pay-it-forward’ to someone else in need.

Your donation will start a chain of events that will inspire hope into the heart of more than one man! It just takes two simple gestures:

1.  Give a donation from your heart, and

2.  Share my campaign on social media sites
