Burgess 480 Facebook Friends ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN My name is Alicia Burgess and currently a Marriage and Family Therapy student. My dream is to help Hawaii's LGBT, especially transgender community to be able to obtain proper healthcare and mental health services. I am hoping to raise money to be able to travel to the mainland for a training that would help me become a Certified Transgender Health Provider here in Hawaii. Once back, I want to be a provider and start a clinic to help those in need. Our state is in dire need of these services, will you help me help Hawaii and this community? Having this certification will not only allow me to help this community, MY community, it will allow me to go even further and begin research in this area. So much more is needed to help our community to feel safe, secure, and grow. I want to give back and help those that are struggling find their voice, find themselves, and be secure and comfortable in their own skin or the skin they were meant to be in. I also want to help family members learn to love, accept, cope, and deal with these struggles too. Its not just the individual that needs this, the whole system needs it. This certification will also hepp me open my own clinic that will give services like case management, referral sources, and other help that the LGBT community needs and cannot get here. Please help me help others. I promise to always pay it forward and will do everything I can to give and get the best healthcare and mental health services for this community, MY community.
