Help With Seminary Tuition
Organized by: MeLo Sauval
EVENT DATE Jan 04, 2016
***Update** After some prayer an much conversation with my wife, I have decided to start classes during the winter seesion in January! This is mostly due to the fact that our second child will be born in October and I felt it would be wise If I could be more aviailble to serve my wife and children, by not adding more of a load on my plate so soon. Also, this allows my wife to spend the next few months at home taking care of the babies while I am out working. Come January I will be going full on with my classs (Lord willing), and I am excited to see what God will do! Thank you so much for your support, and for those who are still considering. We can't do this without you!
**Update** Due to a change in credit hours (12), the need has changed from $8664 to $6000! Thank you to those who have been praying and giving generously so far! We can do it!***
It would be foolish of me to attempt to list all the incredible ways that God has been taking care of my family and me. Needless to say it would probably take a lifetime. God has never given me a reason to not trust him, and now I have an opportunity to take that trust to the next level! I’m going to Seminary! This is very exciting news for me but also pretty scary. The big question is……how do I pay for it? However I’m also very hopeful at the same time because I truly believe that God will do what he always does which is…be God. I know that all good gifts come from above (James 1:17), and I know that God, will provide those gifts through friends, family and the Church. Your support will make my ministry preparation possible, and the need is great.
By the Grace of God my wife Nicole and I will have our 4 year anniversary in May, and we have been blessed with the coolest 1 year old on the planet named Malachi. Literally 3 weeks after Malachi was born, God gave us our first home on the west side of Orlando FL, and because we have family nearby we haven’t spent a dime on daycare (Amen somebody). We are glad we moved and we love our community, but we noticed something that really burdened us. The city is filled with churches that are either dying, or the word of God is not faithfully being preached. Many neighborhoods that desperately need the beautiful life giving truth of the Gospel are instead being fed deadly lies and empty promises. Jesus said during his testing in the desert “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”(Matt 4:4) He also told Peter in John 21, “Feed my sheep.” What can be more important for this world than churches that not only profess Christ, but also feast on his word? And by feasting on his word they therefore live (eternally) by it? I’m praying that God would continue to raise up men who are able to rightly handle the word of truth so that the Gospel can continue to reach the nations. My hope is that God would use me in this way as well, that I may spend the rest of my life expositionally preaching and teaching the inerrant, infallible, sufficient, and authoritative word of God.
Lord willing I will begin working on my MDiv (Master of Divinity) this fall at Reformed Theological Seminary, while continuing to serve the Church and meet the needs of the Body of Christ. The Master of Divinity is the primary degree for preparation of pastoral ministry. My hope is that as we lock arms with our Church, God will create opportunities for more churches to be planted in our city, especially within the minority majority contexts that are saturated with false teachings, and send my wife and I to minister to the broken people there.
How You Can Help
The first way you can help is financially. Any financial support you can give is really appreciated. Every dime you give will be for the purpose of my tuition that as you can see, is really not cheap. This is for fulltime summer/fall tuition, books, and fees. I may have been accepted in the school, but without financial support, I wont be able to take any classes.
The second way you can help is through prayer. If you absolutely cannot give financially, please pray for me and my family.
The third way you can help is by sharing this site on Facebook. Excluding those who would rather remain anonymous, I ask that after you have given financially or have prayed, please share that on Facebook. This will help to spread the word about this need (you dont need to share on facebook how much you gave).
