Help Me Pay For My Mission Trip!
Organized by: Eric Worth
EVENT DATE Dec 15, 2014
his past summer I became involved in a campus ministry here in Chattanooga, Tennessee called "The House". It has played a huge role in my growing relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It has provided not only a great place to worship, but also to make friends. One of the things I have learned over the last couple of years is that we are called to be servants for the Lord. The House has provided many opportunities in and around the Chattanooga area that have allowed me to serve my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
This Christmas break The House is taking a trip south, to Ecuador. It will be an eight day trip (December 15-23) in which I hope to grow and learn a lot. The people we will be serving will be mentally and physically disabled orphans living in an orphanage provided by a organization called "For His Children" (http://www.forhischildren-ecuador.org). Our vision for this trip is to live life alongside the orphans, help the care takers provide for all of the children, in particular those with handicaps, and to take the kids on adventures in their own town, most of which have not seen half of. These children live in a beautiful country, yet have not had the opportunity to see the Lord's beauty right out their back door, due to their physical and mental restraints. Overall, our goal is to see what the Lord is up to in Ecuador, and have our hearts be moved to function out of an even deeper love and knowledge of Jesus when we return.
While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for his people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my fellow students. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the children of Ecuador. Second, we will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time, we (each) need to raise $1,500 (before air fare is added) for the trip, and that is quite a challenge! I would love for you to be able to support me financially and spiritually as I make this journey with The House. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, or through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated!
Thank you very much for taking your time to consider my requests for support. Even if I do not reach my goal, any money raised will help another student missionary with their $5000 goal!
