Help me save my family home
Organized by: Lisa Diehl
This home has been in my family for a long time. My father has been currently living within the home, but due to being disabled, and having some financial issues he has not been able to keep up with the real estate taxes. He is almost 2 years behind, and could possible lose this home if the back taxes are not paid in full soon. He needs to possible sale the house, but it is complicated because there is no clear deed. It use to be my great grandparents home, and when they passed away their was no living will into play. The house have just been passed down by living heirs. This was my dad's parents, and then when they passed it then went to my father, and handicapped uncle. In order to sale the home we will need to hire a real estate lawyer to possible fix the deed to the home, and see how to get a clear deed. Due to my own financial struggles I am afraid we could lose this home to the back taxes because I don't have the funds to pay the back taxes on the property. I am stuck because I am unable to sale it either without a clear deed to the home. Another option is possibly renting it out, but I will still need somehow to pay the back personal property taxes to avoid problems later down the road. So therefore, I am needing help to either hire a real estate lawyer or help with paying back taxes to avoid losing this family home. The back taxes owed is around 800.00 that I will need to get paid. This is for 2013 & 2014. The taxes for a year is about 400.00 a year. Please help me save this family home, and avoid losing due to my father owing back personal property taxes on this home. This home means a lot to me, and I really lost on what to do as this is a very complicated situation that I am trying to deal with, and don't have the financial means to help my father void from losing this home forever. My goal is to find a way to come up with the funds to pay the back taxes for my father, and then try to rent the property out to help cover next years taxes. This home means a lot, and don't want to lose this home.................please help me.
