Goal - Current goal is to raise money ($700) to pay IRS and attorney fees for the creation of a 501 c3 nonprofit.
Mission - To rent/purchase private suites at arenas/stadiums to take combat Veterans and seriously disabled Veterans to observe sporting events and other special events.
Many Veterans that have returned from combat in Iraq or Afghanistan have expressed discomfort or even fear of the thought of sitting in a crowded arena to watch a sporting event. Some that I have spoken with wish they could take their children to the circus or other childrens' live events, but the anxiety over sitting with 5000-10000 other people is too strong. Veterans Entertainment for Trauma Survivors plans to rent and eventually purchase private suites at arenas/stadiums to provide a more secure environment to enjoy events that many of us take for granted.
Again, this effort is simply to help create and start our organization. A much larger fundraiser will begin as soon as we have been approved by the IRS for nonprofit status.
