Help Me While I Help the Middle Class

THE STORY:

I've had a dream that I would improve upon my background, where I grew up in a mobile home in rural Wisconsin with very little to spare. I worked hard to get into law school after years of working in the non-profit area, helping poor clients in areas such as housing, public benefits and family law. I worked during school, and took out only loans that would cover my actual tuition. This left me $200,000 in debt, an amount I will not likely pay off in my lifetime.

My clients are those who are stuck in the middle. They are lower middle class people like my parents. My father was a Vietnam Vet who worked in sheet metal for 35 years to support us. My mom was a clerical worker. My practice is designed to help people like my parents. People who make too much to qualify to poverty legal aid, but too little to afford a skilled attorney. It is a cause close to my heart. I work from home, can't afford rent for an office, and take many cases for free. Others, I work on a sliding fee scale. The problem is, if I don't pay for my loans, I will never be able to build my practice because it has ruined my credit - and eventually it could affect my license to practice law.

Any amount you could give would help a great deal, and it is my pledge that the money will go directly to pay off my loans. Help me to keep helping my clients. They are the lost ones when it comes to the legal system. Thanks for your support.
