Helping Michael “Turn it into Something Good” (EW&F) Fund Hello my name is Penny and I have faith that this will reach everyone. God knew better than Gina and I when he kept our discontent for each other to stop us from becoming friends because today she is my best friend and I will be forever grateful for her.
I am reaching out to you, your family and friends asking for your help on behalf of the Mullen family. We have all experienced the pain from the loss of a loved one at one point or another but for the past 21 months I have watched Gina and Michael stay strong while their family experienced more loss than one person should have gone through. Michael and Gina are both social workers who dedicated their careers to helping others. Michael is one of 7 siblings his brother John passed in 2003, His brother Joe April 2014, his mother in February 2015 and youngest sister Jane in April 2015. Michael is the last brother in the this family. In less than two years they have experienced the process of grieving the loss of a loved one three times. Their pain goes beyond anything you and I will ever identify with. Within time we are supposed to be able to process the loss, embrace the memories of our loved ones and begin to heal. It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that it seems almost impossible for Gina and Michael.
On January 29th Gina and Michael learned that Michael has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Gina and Michael could have less than a year to share the gift of life together as Michael has been given three to twelve months to live. As Michael plans for the end of life, Gina needs to plan for life during and after his passing which is why we are asking for your help. Michael loves the simple things in life from karate, to walks in the woods with their dog Izzie, enjoying music, and a great boxing match, but his greatest love is his wife and daughter. His bucket list includes things from singing back up for the band Earth Wind and Fire (get ready to buy some ear plugs), sky diving with his daughter Miranda, calling a fight ringside at a boxing match and most of all to have peace in his heart knowing that Gina will be okay when God calls upon him. Whether I am on the phone with Gina or in the same room with her, I literally feel her “pain” and her “powerlessness” feeling. True powerlessness at its best is when you can’t take away that pain. True surrender to that powerlessness is knowing that we can do something to lessen the pain, lesson the worry, and lessen the financial burden. That is where we come in, with your donations to The Help Michael “Turn it into something Good” (EW&F) Fund, we can bless Gina and Michael with many gifts. Your donations will allow them enjoy the simple things in life, building memories together, help with medical cost, living expenses, time out of work and moving forward to help save their home and who know maybe even grant him a wish or two off his bucket list. Your love and prayers will also help, so please forward this to everyone you know and ask them to do the same. Let’s come together and “Turn it into something good” from a horrific situation. I know Michael will be forever grateful knowing “We Got you Gina.” Thank you in advance for your donations. Helping a friend in need!!!! God Bless
