Help Mindy Jackson to Help Jana! - Kick Alzheimer's Ass!
Organized by: Sherry Holdridge
Mindy Jackson noticed changes in Jana three years ago. She started getting lost while driving and forgetting the little things. Then the reason was revealed: Jana has Alzheimer's disease.
Where do you begin when your partner of 32 years gets Alzheimer's?
First you work from home providing support yourself. Next you bring in someone to help with home care so you can work to pay the medical bills. Then it becomes impossible. An assisted living facility with an Alzheimer's ward is necessary.
Mindy Jackson is now using 90% of her income to keep Jana in the assisted living facility. Mindy needs our help for basics, such as food and house bills.
The current cost of assisted living care is more than $4,000 per month. With your help we want to raise enough to help Mindy cover the costs for the next 6 months. In reality we need enough for all of 2016 and beyond.
Those who know Jana love her for her quiet nature yet feisty sense of humor. She loves songwriting and was a finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
She and Mindy have hosted many animals on their property including pigs, goats, turkeys, chickens and dogs. There may be a thousand kitties who have known them as Mom.
Consider contributing to Jana's ongoing care since it is not covered by insurance. Mindy needs us.
Everyone with a brain is at risk for Alzheimer's.
Over 5 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's disease in 2015. This includes an estimated 5 million people age 65 and older and approximately 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset Alzheimer's. One in nine people age 65 and older (11 percent) has Alzheimer's disease.
