It is the old story of poverty and ignorance, a naïve young mom and a legal system savvy father . There is a female judge who seems to believe the father and does not seem to consider his long arrest record, alcohol and drug abuse, past abuse of mom, and abuse of 2 year old as witnessed by members of the mom's family. The mom, a sheltered girl from a small town in the mountains, was not told the truth about the history of the father, his arrest record, drug and alcohol abuse during a short courtship. After marriage while drunk, her husband threatened to hurt and kill her while pregnant with the second child. Then the mom accepted her husband was drug and alcohol addicted and left him. The father knows how to use the legal system. The mom does not. The mom is fighting for supervised only visitation with a responsible adult during visits by the father with the children. He is fighting for custody, unsuppervised visits and taunts her about what will she do when he gets full custody. He seems to be using the children as a pawn to attempt to get her to come back to him. The judge has ordered the mom to pump breast milk adequate for 6 hour visits and if not able to do so put the six month old on formula and solid food. The mom and her family can not be present during the father's visits with the children. The judge said, "the mother must submit to the wishes of the father." Multiple members of the mom's family have witnessed the father's drug and alcohol abuse and emotional and physical abuse of the oldest child. The father described in detail to multiple members of the mom's family during the short marriage the physical, sexual and emotional abuse he suffered as a child from the members of his family. The judge authorized some of these same members of the father's family to have access to the children along with the father. The judge seems to believe the father and his family's testamoney in court. The judge does not believe the mother and her family. The judge said, " I need to teach this young girl (mom) a lesson. Father needs more time with his sons." The father pays an attorney with money from winning a liability suit against a prior employer. The mom has an attorney who asked her to find another attorney because the mom does not have money to pay that attorney. The father does not provide child support or spousal support. The mom's attorney will not file for support because the mom does not have money to pay to have this done. The mother is in public housing, gets modest public assistance for the children and her family helps with diapers and the most essential things like food when the mom's money runs out each month. All money raised will be used to do the following: 1) Protect the children from being sent to what the mom's family believes is an abusive environment with the father. 2) Protect the children from family members the father said abused him as a child. 3) Provide the most basic needs for the children and mom.
