BENEFITING: Mawuvios Outreach Programme
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
Mawuvio's Outreach Programme is a non-profit NGO with 501(c)(3) status and field of activity in Ghana, West Africa. Established in August 2009, Mawuvio's Outreach Programme takes care of disadvantaged street youth living under impoverished conditions, that can't afford the required fees for schooling in a pubic school. Mawuvio's Outreach Programme operates under the Ghana Education Service providing Nursery to Primary 6 education to children from age 4 years completely free of charge. The whole organization is financed only through donations. During the inter-term break April 2016, Mawuvio's Outreach will hold a 5 day camp for all students. The camp will allow students to participate in many educational and recreational activities. One activity MOP hopes to have at the camp is Ga Ga Ball! Ga-ga Ball is a variant of dodge-ball that is played with one ball. The game combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping, with the object of being the last person standing. Players hit the ball at each other with their hands, and are eliminated if the ball strikes them on or below the knee. At MOP we strive to provide our students with a diverse range of activities. Establishing a Ga Ga Ball pit will help us diversify our physical education activities!
