HELP MY KIDS READ NON-FICTION- WE LOST OUR FUNDING
Organized by: jordyn lafer
I am a fifth grade Chicago Public Schools teacher. We are in the midst of a budget crisis and the kids are really the ones who are losing out the most. We no longer have the funding for the Scholastic News magazines which provide my students with non-fiction current events that occur not just nationwide, but internationally. They are not privy to this information elsewhere and certainly benefit from the knowledge within these intriguing magazines. My kids come from a low income, poverty stricken neighborhood where gangs are prevalent, parents are absent, and opportunities are scarce. It would be so very helpful if you could help to ensure that my kids get the best education possible.
