This coming August, well over 5,500 people will be pedaling hard to support adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute supported by the Jimmy Fund. I, Nina Ruth Stepanov, am going to be one of those crazy riders.
Let me tell you little about the PMC... This annual bike-a-thon raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Since 1980, the PMC has raised a jaw-dropping $455 million, which all goes straight to the charity. The ride itself runs through 46 towns across Massachusetts, starting in Sturbridge and ending in good old P-town (Provincetown).
Now that we're all on the same page, I have a really big and incredibly humble request of you. Please help me raise $4,500 to meet my donation goal!
Although I've never ridden a bike for more than 20 miles in one sitting and I'm incredibly terrified at the prospect of doing it, I'm ready to get on the track and make a difference in a serious way. I believe in myself and I promise to you, my supporters, that I will train harder than I've ever trained to pedal my way through all 192 miles.
Please help me reach this goal by donating as much as you feel you can. It'll mean the world to me, my fellow riders, and so much more to the Jimmy Fund.
