Annie is a 4 year old beagle/border collie/lab mix that loves to chase her tail and cuddle. She's always energetic and is the light of our lives. On christmas eve this year we spent our night in an emergency room because she had lost her abilty to feel and move her back legs suddenly. She's never shown signs of any issues and has always been a very healthy little girl minus some allergy problems. After an hour drive in less than awesome road conditions we found oursleves in a waiting room praying for the best. The doctor came in after examining Annie and gave us the news. Annie would more than likely need surgery to walk again. They proceeded to explain that it was in Annie's best interest to keep her over night where she could be monitored and kept a close eye on in case she started to get worse. We obviously agreed, wanting what was best for our little Annie. We watched her being carried away by an amazing staff of loving professionals as she stared at us like we were never coming back . It crushed us. At that point we proceeded to the front desk where they explained they needed a $4000 deposit for an MRI and the surgury that was sure to come (estimated $6,000 total). Our hearts sank. This might as well have been $6,000,000 as we were already struggling from all the unexpected surprises this year has brought us. We have been able to pull together $1,000 but the remaining $3,000 deposit for our little Annie JUST to start the procedure is sadly too far out of our reach. As we sit here writing this together we know this is a long shot, but it's our last resort. If you can spare even a dollar, ANYTHING, we (and Annie) would be forever grateful.
