RAPCD is a registered community-based organization (CBO) founded in 2004 empowering disabled children in Kampala, Uganda to have an inclusive education, access to rehabilitative devices, and assistance. RAPCD teaches children the skills of reading Braille, learning sign language, and creating handcrafts to lead increasingly self-sufficient lives beyond school. We advocate for a society where disabled children are accepted and have equal rights and opportunities as their peers. A holistic approach is taken by directly working with children with disabilities, their families, and the communities where they reside. We want to challenge situations that dehumanize these children and together try to find a way to sensitize the community on the rights of children with disabilities. Your support defends a child's right to rehabilitation. The funds raised during this campaign will be exclusively used to build two facilities to house, nourish, and educate these beautiful children. RAPCD's hostel is meant to host approximately 80 children, but is currently caring for 143 children. In order to provide the best care and education for all, a Multi-purpose Hall and a new All-Male Hostel will be created. The Multi-purpose Hall will serve as a place for the following activities for young girls and boys: dining, children's assemblies, social activities (drama and music), rehabilitation of children with physical and cerebral palsy disabilities, parent meetings, seminars and conferences, and handcraft making. We thank you in advance for helping to fund an incredible initiative that will inspire and empower hundreds of children, happy holidays!
