HELP REBUILD CHAURIKHARKA, NEPAL
Chaurikharka is my Nepali home. I have visited this village a number of times, volunteered in their school, lived among the people, they are my Nepali family. Now, because of the recent Earthquake, the homes are demolished, there is not extra money to rebuild. The guides and porters have helped many of us on our treks. Now we have an opportunity to give back, or pay forward. PLEASE HELP.
Chaurikharka (11,685') is a Sherpa village situated high in the Himalayas between Lukla and Mt. Everest. The people who live there are mostly farmers, many of the men are mountain guides and porters. Life is not easy on the mountains but even though the work is hard their spirit is high, they make time to help others in need and to celebrate life.
The money raised from this fundraiser will be used to help rebuild the homes that were lost by the Chaurikharka families in the April Earthquake. As I mentioned above, many families do not have money for a rebuild. I will personally see that the money is delivered to Chaurikharka. Shares will be given on a "most need" basis. I will ask the Community Elders to help me with the needs assessment.
