Help Re-Open The Celtic Shop
Organized by: Charlie Weir
As one of the premier touchstones of Celtic culture at our previous location in the center of the country, we were handed a lethal blow by the banks who prohibitively raised our interest rates making our continued operation impossible.
We have since relocated to the Vancouver, WA area and hope to re-open our retail storefront and return to our previous cultural education and promotion, and cultural heritage functions but now within the historic Downtown area of Vancouver, WA.
To do so we need enough funds to "pay the rent" for up to two years until our clientele and visitors make this enterprise self-sufficient again. We already have merchandise and materials, all we need is your kind help to start it up again.
Any funding provided would serve several purposes: to fund a worthwhile family enterprise; help to promote Celtic culture in an under-served area of the Pacific Northwest; help fund the ongoing efforts of the owners to give genealogy advice and free culturally based programs to the public in this area; give a means to celebrate one's own Celtic heritage in giving to a firm who shares and promotes it; and, voice an opposition against the unfair banking practices toward small businesses following the national bailout of those banks.
Our Celtic culture is fast becoming extinct worldwide, and this fundraiser would make a difference in preserving it in the area. The owners are proud of their Celtic heritage and have intentions to resist its eclipse.
