I rescued Rocky from a high kill shelter in Miami-Dade almost 2 years ago. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on him that he had to come home with me. I'll never forget the love and affection he showed on my initial visit to the shelter. He was full of life and just like many of the animals in these horrifc places, just wants a loving home to call their own. I took him out around the shelter and we played for a bit so I could observe his temperament. After that I offered to adopt him. What I didn't know until I came to pick him up is that he had somehow got loose and was hit by a car prior to being brought to the shelter. He also reeked of urine and while bathing him I discovered he was infested with ticks. Although I have paid to have these issues resolved, he still has this jaw deformity that doesn't allow for his teeth to align properly. I knew he had this overbite when I adopted him but he was so cute and adorable of course I looked past that not thinking it was a big deal. He also has difficulty digesting food as he will vomit it back up. Its almost as if it's not going all the way down. Sometimes while playing with toys he will yelp in pain. I don't know if it's his teeth or an underlying injury caused by the accident. It seems to be getting worse and I'm getting worried. He's up to date on all his shots and flea heartworm meds, but the rising costs of these vet bills are putting a strain on my finances. I don't want to send him back to those deplorable conditions at the shelter, but I can't afford these medical costs on my own. I am turning to you my fellow animal lovers for help. As you can appreciate, our pets are family and we are here to protect them and love them unconditionally. PLEASE HELP MY BABY!
