Help Save The Fourth Of July!
Organized by: Shawn Walsh
EVENT DATE Jul 04, 2015
My name is Shawn Walsh and I was born and raised here in Kingman, Az. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances my Hometown has announced they were unable to put together the annual Fireworks Celebration for this year's Fourth of July Celebrations. I just can’t give up that easy though, and that’s what brought me here. I'm trying my best to put together a fireworks show for the community. We have found a pyrotechnic company that is available and a location suitable for the show out at the Arizona Route 66 Motorsports Park where the Sand Drags are held, but the biggest part lacking now is the funding! We need to raise $25,000 ASAP in order to book the pyrotechnic company. We need your help and generosity to aid us in joining with the rest of the country to celebrate our Nation's Independence Day!
I don't have any children of my own but I do have a cute little peanut of a niece who's 2 and one handsome 4-year-old nephew, and they just LOVE the fireworks! One year we watched the fireworks show from my Uncle's house and just about everyday after that they would ask if they could go to his house again to watch the fireworks. They gotso caught up with wonder and amazement that it broke my heart to hear my town was unable to put on the show this year. I'm willing to bet my niece and nephew aren't the only kids out there who love the fireworks and will be missing the magic in the air that night if we don't do something about it. We CAN do something about it! The celebration CAN still be saved!
Please help us raise enough money for a show worthy of the kids' imaginations and worthy of all those who, past and present, have sacrificed so much for us to enjoy the liberties and freedoms we have and love in our free country this Independence Day! Any amount will help. All money will go into The Community Improvement Foundation's care, a non-profit created for benefiting the community with service projects to help clean it up and keep it beautiful. I created The Community Improvement Foundation as an entity to organize this fireworks show and hope to use this non-profit in the future to benefit Kingman and surrounding areas.
Thank you so much!
*If enough money is not raised for the fireworks show and since the city already budgeted money for a show, I dont think its necessary to donate it to the city for next year. I would like to either find a local charity to donate it to or leave it in the Community Improvement Foundation's account to be used for future service projects around town. I'll try and get a feel from donors to see what to do with the donations.
