Help Save This Veteran's Widow's Home
Organized by: Barb Orr
My lifelong BFF just buried her husband. He was a military veteran. For financial reasons, she had to move out of the family home (which has fallen into disrepair, and is being taken back by the bank). This move has separated her from her daughter, her grandchild, her furry companions, and the strong support of her hometown. At a time when she should be retiring, and enjoying life, she is still working, and asking for overtime hours when available. As a military veteran's widow whom has never asked for help from anyone, but has always been there for others who have needed help, this just doesn't seem fair to me. I've recently learned that the bank may be imposing a time restriction. So the sooner we can get help to my friend, the better the chance we have of saving the home. Then we can concentrate on making the repairs. The amount I'm seeking in donations from you out there, is $75,000. Here's my breakdown of why I'm asking for that amount: 1/3 is to buy the home back from the bank; 1/3 is to make the necessary repairs to bring the home back up to code; and the remaining 1/3 is to help my friend get by until she can get back into the finished home. If you are able to help my friend save her home, even if you only have $1 to share, I promise you, it is greatly appreciated!! Please help me show our support for our military, and the families they leave behind. Thank you so very much for whatever help you are able to share. And if you're not able to share today, maybe you know someone who is. Maybe you know of an organization who is looking for a worthy cause to support. I promise you, this would be worth the support. God bless you all. Thank you for your consideration, your love, and your donations of any amount.
