Help send Chelsea and Laura to Haiti!
Organized by: Laura Marley
EVENT DATE Jun 08, 2014
Project Medishare for Haiti is an organization dedicated to sharing its human and technical resources with its partners in the quest to establish sustainable healthcare and community development services. Rural Haiti is home to some of the country’s most impoverished people, who have little-to-no access to basic health care, hospitals, prenatal care, clean water or sanitation systems. One in every 5 children dies before reaching the age of 5.
Through it's volunteers, Project Medishare provides the Haitian community with access to essential healthcare. The people of Haiti can receive medical treatment for a variety of conditions to improve their quality of life. The organization also seeks to establish sustainability by training Haitian healthcare providers, thus securing better health care in the years to come.
Chelsea will be returning to Haiti for the 4th time. The trip will be a first for Laura. We are both Teaching Assistants at Kent State University, getting Master's degrees in athletic training. While we are very excited for this amazing opportunity, we need your help! As graduate students, our funds are limited. In order to serve in Haiti, we have to cover the cost of travel, food, and housing. Please help us help Haiti!
