EVENT DATE: Jan 15, 2013
Please help us send Miriam Ramirez Torres (14 years old) and Gaspar Ramirez Torres (12 years old) to school. Miriam and Gaspar were little kids when we were neighbors with them in Concepcion Huista, Guatemala eight years ago. They were some of our favorite kids we got to hangout with and both are very bright, loving, and should have bright futures. In order to attend the next grade, Miriam will have to travel to a nearby town (Jacaltenango) that offers the equivalent of high school. There she wants to study business accounting. Her little, but big, brother Gaspar is ready for middle school. To help keep his sister safe during her travels, he will accompany her and attend the same school. Our goal is to raise a portion of the costs to help Miriam and Gaspar attend school, the remainder will be paid for by their father, and our good friend, Don Marcos Ramirez Torres.
All of the money raised will be sent to a trusted friend, and former co-worker, in Jacaltenango to then enable payment to the school. The name of the school is Liceo Camposeco and the webpage is: http://liceocamposeco.blogspot.com/
We'll plan to add photos of Miriam and Gaspar and whenever possible we'll post progress of their school work.
Thanks for considering making a contribution, every bit helps!
