Help Start a Nonprofit Community Organization
Organized by: Joel Manolis
As a parent, or young adult between the ages of 0 to 99, what is available for kids, and family to do that is safe, economical, and interesting to do in Kelso/Longview that improves the community? The Kelso/Longview area is home to some really amazing youth, both maturing, and budding young people who will become our future leaders. In the last decade the local economy has been subject to a siege of household crippling forces such as an increasing number of people falling victim to job loss or schedule cuts, increases in consumable goods costs (fuel, food, etc), and a steady rise of drug/substance abuse which has trickled its way into youth circles, simply because there is no safe, affordable, and interesting place for these youth, and families to spend their spare time. All while parents are increasing their time away from home to better provide for their families. There has got to be a better option than what is available. I have an idea that will create a better option addressing the issue of a safe, fun, and affordable place for our youth, and families to go. I would like to start a nonprofit organization based in the Kelso/Longview are that serves the local community. The goal is to raise $100,000 to start up, and begin operating this Nonprofit in the first year, in an effort to serve the local community by providing that safe, fun, and affordable outlet for families. This is only the beginning, as we become established there are many projects on the table that will enrich, and improve the community. I have a dream of this idea coming to life and truly improving the community through education, developing awareness, and giving back to the community in the form of fun family events, fundraising, various scholarships, and volunteer opportunities. I challenge you to take part in making this dream a reality. By now, you are fed up with standing by, and watching this community struggle to usher our families, and youth into a positive, and opportunity filled future. So take a stand and donate today. Our leaders of tomorrow will thank us for it.
