Need Help! Xochitl - The Miracle Puppy On Sunday, August 23rd, my roommate and I adopted a beautiful 7 week old Yorkie. Next day she suffered blunt trauma to her forehead. She's been in intensive care under 24h surveillance ever since. The vet told us the next morning that he honestly thought she wouldn't make it through the night. However, we've visited her everyday since the accident and the progress that she has made is absolutely miraculous (vet's own words). Her heart beat is normal, she's breathing on her own and glucose levels are normal. Two days later she was starting to walk and eat solid food on her own. We're all (including the vets) really hopeful because her health seems to be getting exponentially better everyday. Today, September 1st, they ran basic neurological tests to give us an official diagnosis/prognosis. They say she should be able to have a completely nomal life. Nothing is for certain, but she's beat all the odds. The vet confirmed that she's still young enough to have neuronal compensation by making new/other synapses stronger. So we are focused on getting all better so she can enjoy a very long and healthy life. This will be a very long process since she will requiere daily therapy/rehab sessions for at least a few months. This means expenses are really piling up and we can use any help we can get. Any donation is more than welcome, including spare change found under the couch cushions. Thank you so very much for your help. PS. Daily vet visit pictures, videos, payment receipts and status reports will be uploaded to the page "Help Support Xochitl" below. Please join, follow and share so we can keep you all updated!!
