Since the beginning of June I’ve been training for the Chicago Marathon that will take place on October 12. Not only is this my first marathon, but I’m also trying to raise at least $1,500 for the Imerman Angels.
I’m excited and very much looking forward to running with my best friend, Andrea. Even though she’s 1,200 miles away, we’ve been each other’s support system by exchanging stories, sharing our run times, and figuring out ways we can both improve our running before the big day.
In our lives having the support to help us through tough times and also celebrate the joys we experience is a vital part of one’s well-being. We need to feel a sense of belonging and feel socially connected to our family and friends. Furthermore, we need people to turn to for advice and encouragement whenever we face difficult times.
Just like each and everyone of us has turned to others for support in life, I want to pay it forward and give back to the Imerman Angels for their remarkable work.
I personally believe having support in any capacity, especially during the most difficult times in our lives is incredibly important. Please help me reach my fundraising goal of helping five (5) individuals get matched with an Imerman Angel by October 12th. Your monetary donation will help the provide the support and resources in order to help cancer fighters and caregivers win their battle!
