Help to start my own business "Magic City Cafe"
Organized by: Katie Renn
I didn't always like to bake. In fact I didn't even know that I could until my youngest son decided he wanted me to help him make brownies. He had asked for the brownie pan for Christmas about 4 years ago and his grandma got it for him. We tried it out and used a box mix which turned out to be a total failure. He continued to insist on making brownies so I finally decided to try making them from scratch. I found a recipe online that seemed easy enough and it came out quite well. I started to experiment with different types of pastries and have since been asked why I don't go into business for myself. My youngest son is determined to have me open a bakery and I would like a place where people can come get breakfast or lunch and relax for a bit. There are several buildings in the area that would be perfect and have been empty for quite some time now. I think it would be nice to bring new business into this small town and maybe attract more people to try and open something up and helping to revitalize the area. The name that I chose is actually from the city itself. The city of Farrell was known as the magic city in the early 1900's and I thought it would be a fitting name for a cafe.
