BENEFITING: Free for Life International
Free for Life is an international trafficking organization that meets the needs of trafficking survivors. One of the projects Free for Life has just partnered with is the opening of the very first border monitoring station on the Nepal/Tibet border. This border monitoring station has now been open for one month and they have rescued 13 girls from a life of slavery in that time.
When each girl is rescued she is taken to the temporary shelter that is a part of the border monitoring station. She may be there for a few days or a few weeks while the staff from the station travels to the girls village (which may be a great distance away) to speak to her family and find out if they are willing to accept her back into the family. There is a great deal of traveling back and forth while not only the family but the village is educated about trafficking and that the young woman is a victim and has done nothing wrong.
So here is where this fundraiser comes in they need 2 motor bikes to quickly and economically travel back and forth and even take the young woman back to her village. Since they have no transportation at this moment they travel with each girl on the bus. Vehicles of any kind are extremely expensive in Nepal. This is the most economical option but at this time Free for Life does not have the additional funds to purchase these motor bikes.
When you give to this project you will enable the staff at the border to ensure girls are able to be transported back to their families or to the main shelter in Kathmandu quickly and easily. As well as enable the staff to travel back and forth providing training and education about trafficking in remote villages.
If you donate $50.00 you receive a braclet made by girls at the shelter in Nepal (pic example)
If you donate $75.00 you receive a necklace made by girls at the shelter in Nepal (pic example)
