“Our greatest gift between the two of us is to be a mother and a father...not just to our own. To take care of everyone who walks through our door… nothing is more important to us.”- Lance Adams.
Lance and Line Adams are serving and loving the people of Standing Rock, ND who have largely been forgotten and neglected by the world. In May of 2011, they committed to spending the next 5 years of their lives on the Standing Rock Reservation. Their ministry there begins with being a solid and consistent presence, which in time has created refuge and sanctuary for the Sioux children and youth.
"Life is not defined by how you grew up or your home life... The children feel safe with us and has opened opportunity for real discipleship, and we are already seeing the fruits of our labors in the lives of our friends here. In fact, while the focus has been the youth, the changes in their lives are now touching the adults in the community. Like tossing a stone into still water; parents, teachers and other community leaders are being inspired, encouraged, and above all challenged as they see the change in the young men and women of Standing Rock." - Lance Adams
The Adams have been called from an early age to reach out to the unseen, overlooked, forgotten; and to love them as Christ does. Both have been equipped for over 14 years to live out their roles as ministers at Sanctuary Concept through various programs and organizations around the world. Preparations include the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO; Campus Crusade for Christ; and students/staff for Youth With A Mission (YWAM). These experiences have trained Lance and Line to purposefully and intentionally create communities of refuge simply through their loving interactions with each other and those around them.

Now, more organizations come alongside Sanctuary Concept, and more relationships are building every day. To name a few: First Hurst, Destination Native Nation, Morning After Ministries (M.A.M.), Family Arise, Warriors Come Home, Roanoke Valley Baptist Association, WMU Virginia, and Compass Wilderness.
“We just happen to create home and sanctuary wherever we go.”
That is communicating what God is by being a place of refuge and safety. He is the God of comfort, a best friend, and we wanted to embody that by committing to a true Christian lifestyle. This is why we need your help: we’re going to teach future students how to live like this on a bigger scale.
“First do, then teach.”
We've been given a heart to multiply this mission in Denmark with a DTS (Discipleship Training School) through YWAM (Youth With a Mission). We believe a true Christian lifestyle looks like opening up your home, reorienting you lifestyle for others and providing a sanctuary wherever you go.
This DTS program model is perfect, because it provides intensive training submerged in a culture and saturated in outreach, as we would hone in on students’ passions, talents, and heart for people. Here's a link to find out more about YWAM DTS. Each DTS has a number of months of training/lecture than outreach; we were excited to find out YWAM Denmark felt lead to reach out to Inuit tribes in Greenland, Canada and First Nation Native Americans.
“It was like God saying, ‘I’ve been preparing this. You’re in the right place.’”
The site is a plot of land known to locals as Le Stenskilde; translation meaning "the rock spring". It is a beautiful, inspiring place with community outreach and bible schooling already deep in it's history. YWAM, DENMARK is 100% behind us on this vision, as they have been aching to start ministering to young people again. Here is a link to Stenskilde property listing.
“We discovered many people have been praying for this property over the last 15-20 years for it to once again become a bible school.”
The price is $1,695,000 Danish krones, which is exactly $249,551 US dollars right now. After we looked at the property personally and considered everything that needing to be repaired/updated/replacing in the building, they estimate about $150,000 would be needed to make it liveable. So we’ve been called to a $400,000 fundraiser! We have so many people donating their time and talents toward this endeavor, so those numbers cover the house and nothing more. With social media networking, between you, your friends and your friends' friends, we think it will look more like 40,000 people giving $10. That’s two drinks from a Starbucks splurge! That is your call to action: that you would support us by giving a little of your time and money so this vision can become a reality.
Finally, we want to thank all of you for taking the time to listen to our vision and heart behind what we’re doing. It means the world to us, and I can’t wait for the relationships that will be formed through this endeavor.
