THE STORY:

About Us

We are a 22 acre farm in rural Knoxville,Tennessee. We specializes in adoption, rehabilitation and transport of pugs all over the country. We are a foster home and volunteer based rescue and operate solely on donations from the public. All adoptable animals are completely vetted including spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm testing and prevention. All of the animals live inside and are not kenneled. We are also a sanctuary for hospice and special needs animals to live out the rest of their lives in a warm loving home getting the love, attention and medical care they need. We are all volunteers, with no paid employees. Each person serves in the way best suited to their lifestyle and individual skills.We are proud of the way we have built this organization. We have determined that our common welfare and the welfare of the pug breed must come first. Our leaders are but trusted servants, in that they do not govern. There is no power structure, just a service structure.

We are currently working with an attorney to get our 501c3 to become a legal not for profit organization. We serve the Eastern part of Tennessee and working to expand to other areas.

Here is the letter from our attorney....

Kevin,

Thank you!

Based on your response, your organization will qualify for 1023-EZ (electronic 501c3 application).

Therefore, your complete quote will be as follows:

- our fee is $395 prepare and file your 1023EZ; we charge additional $125 to incorporate your organization as a nonprofit corporation;

- state incorporation fee in TN is $100;

- the IRS fee is $400.

Total fees add up to be $1,020.

The fees are quoted based on the assumption that your organization is not a church or a school, and has had revenues of less than $50,000 per year in the last 3 years and the next 3 years.

If you do end up going over $50k a year, you would just report it in your annual form 990.

Attached to this email, you will find two documents:

1. A client agreement (signed by FGF Services) that details the services and the applicable fees.

2. A Form 1023-EZ Questionnaire

To start the process with our organization, we need two items:

1. $620 (our fee and state fee per agreement). Payment can be made using the following link,

http://fgfservices.com/index.php/payment-for-services

2. A completed Form 1023-EZ Questionnaire (Blank Form attached).

Once we receive the payment and the questionnaire, we will:

- obtain your EIN with the IRS (unless you already have it);

- incorporate you as a nonprofit corporation with the secretary of state;

- prepare and file form 1023EZ (application for tax-exempt status) directly with the IRS on your behalf;

- provide you with a bylaws template;

- provide a conflicts of interest policy template;

- represent your organization if the IRS has additional questions in the process of application.

Thanks!
