Help Us Help Eric
Organized by: Nicole Consiglio
Eric died this morning, June 2nd, 2014 at 8:08am.
Yesterday the Dr. told us that his body was completely healthy and showed my mom the labwork that proved it. He said that Eric had plateaued and he was not at risk for cardiac arrest and the liklihood of another stroke was unlikely.
This morning Eric made a choice - He just let go. He stopped breathing. No heart attack. He just...stopped.
The time has come. If you haven't already, please give what you can. Funeral arrangments are being made.
From our family to yours, we say thank you. Thank you so much.
Eric was a young, healthy, 21 year old. He went to work in good spirits on May 7th and was laughing and joking with his co-worker and good friend, Dante. Suddenly he complained of a headache and within seconds he was having a seizure.
Eric had a brain aneurysm that ruptured. This is quite rare at his age, but it does happen. He may have been born with it. We all gathered at the hospital, hoping for the best. His aneurysm was successfully repaired but in the days that followed more bad news was delivered. There was too much swelling, he would need a piece of his skull removed. That operation was successful as well. Then he fell victim to vasospasms and had a vessel collapse in his brain. This was also fixed with a surgical procedure. However, it was then that we were told that Eric had suffered a massive stroke that had caused significant damage to the right side of his brain. We had him transferred to a better hospital with the facilities and means to properly care for him. He did so well for a couple of days. He looked better. He looked like Eric. He was still critical, but he was stable. We were told that his age would work in his favor in the healing process. We were cautiously hopeful. Then he again needed an angioplasty to open up another collapsed vessel. This time the balloon burst causing another bleed on his brain. The damage has been devistating. This has been a huge setback in his recovery. We hope with everthing that we have that he will come back from this. Eric was uninsured and his bills have already started arriving. Please, if you can, help us with the bills for his medical care. Help us pay for any continued care he may need. If it should come to it...and this breaks my heart...help us lay him to rest.
Eric is a son, brother, nephew, uncle, and loyal friend. He would do whatever he could for anyone in need.
