BENEFITING: A Work of Life
In Cochabamba, three children under the age of six are abandoned EVERY DAY. The prisons (you read that correctly - PRISONS) are full of children who are living with their inmate parent because there is no other place for the child/children to live. You don't get a cell, or blankets, or even food in prison in Bolivia - unless you pay for it. As you can imagine, there are not many jobs in prison and the women are forced to participate in prostitution in order to survive. As if life isn't bleak enough, some children are forced out of the prison and onto the streets to fend for themselves because of overcrowding. This was the reason the Bolivian Hope Center was established - to provide a caring home, nutrition, and education to these children. Please help us reach our goal so we can foster these children for the next two years.
