THE STORY:

World Heritage Volunteers 2014 - Action for Sustainability proposals for the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) 2014. This year the campaign will be contributing to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014) and the Decade on Biodiversity (2011-2020). The campaign is contributing to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014)
The WHV 2014 provides challenging opportunities for young people to go beyond borders, share cultures, and work together to preserve natural sites, restore archaeological finds, and raise awareness amongst local communities about their heritage
The UNESCO World Heritage Education Program, will help young Haitian people to become more attentive to their national and global heritage and their participation in the program of sensibilisions heritage. We would like to bring young schoolboy in rural communities of Haiti has identified those various aspects of local heritage , the world heritage and awareness, the other cultures and cultural heritage; unable to practical approach to the concept heritage in their minds. Awaken their curiosity on the various stages and the historical construction of the Haitian World Heritage tentative list in the city of Jacmel. We would like to make them discover through our program those assets of recent past lived by the narratives of the elders know the personages, and encourage the child go back in time. So that, they'll understand the link between the remains or constructions of the past and the lives of men at some point and why it is important to fight for their protect, we also want them to be more open to the world to enroll them, develop within framework of their future life a number of skills to become involved and ambassadors for their country. It develops therefore a citizen behavior through physical, sensitive and real environment approach (site they will discover), but also to develop relationships with actors differences works in this medium? We hope through this project youth rural communities can be more creative, and arrive to mobilize actors who working on heritage the sites around their common city, make them attractive in order to awaken the curiosity, tourism feeling, that can facilitate economic development, tourism and social
