EVENT DATE: Nov 11, 2017
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Nov 11, 2017
FUNDRAISER SET UP DEADLINE: Nov 11, 2017
On Nov. 11th @ 4pm the Dicfit crew will be hosting a Remembrance Day charity challenge at Carleton Place High School.
We are coining the event Heroes Homage.
This will be neither a race, nor a competition, but rather a chance for us to come together and challenge ourselves. It’s going to take a few hours for all to finish. We will chip away and cheer each other on until everyone has finished. Only then will we be all done.
The challenge will be a workout called MURPH.
The workout was a favourite of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
It’s has become a staple workout to do in honour of those who have fought for our freedoms.
If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.
The proceeds of the event will go to the MFRC (Military Family Resource Center) https://www.cafconnection.ca/National-Capital-Region/Contact-Us/Military-Family-Resource-Centre/Our-Mission-Vision.aspx
We are all very excited to get together for this challenge for Remembrance and hope you can join us.
We will have more information up in the coming weeks. There will also be a scaled version of the workout to accommodate everyone’s abilities.
