I wanted to say "thanks" for joining this team. This was my first Heroes 6K, and what a beautiful day it was for a run/walk. When I signed up in July I was supporting the cause in general, for others who have suffered the effects of substance abuse. Last week I found out my cousin is really struggling with alcohol, maybe more, and his family is really encouraging him to get the help he needs. He has had serious surgery to save his arm, surgery because of abscessed teeth, and a chainsaw accident to his knee. He is an overcomer, and I want to see him keep overcoming! What a tangible way for me to show I support him in recovery efforts. I'd love it if he came to this race next time. Thanks again for supporting this important work.
