10th Annual Walk to End Homelessness
EVENT DATE: Apr 23, 2017
Help Turn the Tide on Homelessness
Every day we see people who are literally destitute. They have no savings and no family or friends to take them in.
Every evening we host individuals struggling with a mental health crisis or addiction. Every week people arrive at our door still wearing their prison clothing, just released from jail with no money.
By supporting the Walk to End Homelessness, you help them turn the tide. Your registration and the pledges you raise will go to the Homeless Hospitality Center in New London, CT. (Go to www.nlhhc.org/walk to register and get more info on the walk.)
Let's Build a Stronger Community
HHC serves about 600 people a year. We have the tools to help them get back on their feet: assistance to find work and housing. Connections to job searches, treatment and medical resources. A place of safety and hospitality where people can regroup.
Increasingly we are focusing on the hard work of helping them get back into housing, where they can best tackle the issues that caused their homelessness.
Let’s build a stronger community. Let’s be neighbors to each other. A modest hand up can turn a life around.
We hope to raise $25,000, with $15,000 in support from Walkers and their sponsors.
