Hibiscus Children Center (HCC) rebuilds and repairs the lives of abused and neglected children and takes them to a whole new place. A much brigher place filled with hope, laughter and smiles! From sheltering kids removed from their homes due to egregious abuse, to strengthening family relationships and reducing the potential for future abuse, HCC nurtures for a positive future by ensuring that children grow with the confidence that they can reach their highest potential and break from generational cycles of abuse.
What began as a grass root effort over 25 years ago due to the initiative, spirit, and dedication of just one person, HCC was born. Mrs. LaVaughn Tilton set out to create a place for abused and neglected children where they could overcome the difficult obstacles they are facing.
Today, HCC provides a dedicated team of staff, volunteers and loving foster parents with the tools and support to extend a caring and loving hand to those little ones that cannot help themselves. HCC operates two shelter homes with loving house parents and staff. Broken young lives are being repaired everyday at the Hibiscus Children's Shelter in Jensen Beach, the Children's Village in Vero Beach as well as foster families dedicated to provide a loving environment to those in need.
The number of families in crisis situations needing help from HCC has never been higher. More and more children are being emotionally and physically impacted by their caregiver's stress. Homelesssness is at an all time high. Child abuse and neglect is up. Government funding of social service programs has been cut, and HCC general donations and grants have been severely restricted.
So...what can you do to help? Give to this cause and support my run this November by a generous donation to Hibiscus Children Foundation. I can tell you that every dollar you give will be used with purpose and with the intent to improve the lives of so many young people right here in Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, and Indian River Counties.
Please help! You'll be glad you did...
