Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! As some of you know, I have a love of, passion for, and obsession with social enterprise and finding ways to "do good while doing well." When I think about my future, nothing excites me more the prospect of using the tools of business and entrepreneurship to combat global poverty.
At UCLA, I've had the amazing opportunity to team up with other students through Nourish International to run small businesses on campus and invest our profits to make change abroad. Last year, we ran our university's only Thrift Sale and used our profits to build sustainable greenhouses in Ecuador, helping erase malnutrition in the local community. This year, we've launched a catering service and can't wait to see where our money goes.
I've launched socially conscious ventures, led workshops on campus about social entrepreneurship, and dedicated my academic career to understanding issues of development and poverty -- but I believe that I need some expert guidance in this field to help me maximize my impact.
Luckily, I found the StartingBloc Institute for Social Innovation. I was fortunate to be accepted as a StartingBloc Fellow this November, and I can't wait to jump into the five-day transformative experience during which young leaders learn to increase their impact, exponentially. The Institute has an amazing curriculum that includes an innovative case-study competition and sessions with industry leaders.
Please help me complete my goal of raising the $1000 tuition for the StartingBloc Institute by December 20, 2012.
If you want to know more about social enterprise, StartingBloc, or my work with Nourish International, please ask away. Thank you so much for your time and your contribution! I feel so privileged to be surrounded by such a supportive team.
