Help Baby Luz
Organized by: Guruprakash Khalsa
Baby Luz D' Luna was born on 6/8/15 in Los Angeles to our dear friend and yoga teacher, Caro Quinteros (Kulraj Kaur) and her husband Cory. Due to birth complications, Luz suffered prolonged lack of oxygen to the brain. She spent the first 87 days of her life at the Los Angeles Children's hospital and underwent several surgeries, tests and medical procedures until she was released on September 3rd. Baby Luz has been diagnosed with h.i.e (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy) and doctors say that it is likely that she will never walk, talk, or feed herself and will be completely dependent the rest of her life. This little girl is a fighter and we are holding the space and sending prayers that her progress and development will greatly exceed expectations.
Please help me to support this beautiful, courageous family through this time of great transition. One of their most immediate needs is financial assistance in the process of acquiring a Green Card for Luz's father, Cory who is a Canadian citizen. Even though Cory and Caro got married at the hospital the Green Card process can take significant time and resources. Caro can no longer work and will be Luz's full time caretaker. Cory can only work once his Green Card goes through.
Any contribution will help this family tremendously! Thank you so much for your generosity and prayers and please spread the word - as they do need help in many ways!
