2016 High School Scholarship Program in Haiti
Organized by: Gail Grady
Together we can do amazing work!!
April 11, 2016
Some things NEVER change ~ Like the upcoming date of my birth on April 9.
Some things DO change ~ Such as this year I turn 62 and will retire.
Some things CAN change ~ For example, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. ~ Less than 22% of eligible-aged children in Haiti are enrolled in secondary school.
We can be a catalyst for change. In order for a country to develop, it must have adequate human capital. That human capital is obtained through education. Education is a pivotal part of human development, and can positively influence standards of living, health and governance. Together we have power. Our power lies in our conviction, our passion and our determination.
In 2014 I felt called to establish a High School Scholarship Program for the children in Basen Manyan, Haiti. This is my third appeal asking you to join me in this effort. As you know, I am moving to Haiti this July. Although I will be not be living in Basen Manyan I will remain involved with that community and visit often. We currently provide tuition assistance for several bright, dedicated students who attend middle and high school in the nearby city of Gonayiv.
It is my prayer that you will continue your support of this program. You are effecting the future of this beautiful country I will soon call home. I commit and promise that every single penny donated is used for tuition. On behalf of Tchaïna, John Frantzley, Evenson, Danaïka, Judno, Rose-Lore, Lovedina, Ricardi, Witztaïna, Jose-Berline, Rose-Berchise, Cynthia and Chanderline I offer my profound gratitude.
No donation is too small.
No prayer is insignificant.
